In the letter "Climategate" (TGI, Dec. 28) Robin Clark
quotes a climatologist Michael Oppenheimer, "The Earth
has warmed more than 1 degree Celsius over the last
century. Global sea level has risen 7 inches. Both
major ice sheets are losing ice rapidly."
Actually, the Earth has only warmed 1/2 a degree of
Celsius above the historical mean, actual observed sea
levels have not risen, as opposed to simulated models,
and total global ice mass has not been significantly
lost when the full annual cycles are measured and
compared.
This is why Climategate is important, because data and
facts have been manipulated by those scientists and
some politicians with vested interests toward an
outcome of not to actually solve environmental
problems, such as pollution and resource depletion,
but for the furtherance of a global tax regime and
government for wealth redistribution across national
borders.
There are some climate changes taking place on Earth,
we as humans are using up depletable resources at an
alarming rate, and we as humans are introducing too
much non-biodegradable waste into the environment, but
it HAS NOT BEEN SCIENTIFICALLY SHOWN that humans are
causing "global warming" with the introduction of too
much CO2 (a safe, necessary compound for biologic
function) into the atmosphere.
The tenets of "Global warming" theory are patently
false, and the years ahead will reveal this to be an
unprecedented fabrication attempted on the human race.
Thank Heaven for Climategate.

Also take note of the following interesting recent report/graphs on 'global warming' temperatures. http://bit.ly/4OrrwW It is talking about 0.5 tenths of a degree C increase from the mid-70's to the present but does NOT link that to CO2 as opposed to solar or galactic gravitational shifts as the controlling variables for the slight temperature increase.
I'll say it right now, it is my belief that it is gravitational influences that the Sun is going through as it orbits the center of the Milky Way Galaxy and approaches the stronger gravity on the Milky Way's elliptical plane that is affecting the Sun and primarily causing the climate changes being seen on Earth and on other planets in our solar system.
European Parliament to Investigate W.H.O. and Big Pharma in January 2010 over H1N1
"EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT TO INVESTIGATE WHO IN JANUARY 2010"
Sunday, 20 December 2009
The Council of Europe member states are to launch an inquiry in January 2010 on the influence of the pharmaceutical companies on the global swine flu campaign, focussing especially on extent of the pharma‘s industry’s influence on WHO, according to reports in the German media.
www.zeit.de/politik/2009-12/schweinegrippe-europa
www.tagesspiegel.de/politik/international/Schweinegrippe-Europarat;art123,2976433
Wolfgang Wodarg, former SPD member of parliament, and chairman of the European parliament’s health committee, initiated the inquiry. The motion was passed unanimously by his colleagues in the European parliament‘s health committee.
Wodarg has criticised the measures taken against the swine flu as "one of the biggest medical scandals of the century."
He said the influence of the the pharamaceutical industry on scientists and government officials has resulted in "millions of healthy people being exposed unnecessarily to the risks of an inadequately tested vaccine."
That even though, the swine flu virus is "much less harmful" than last year’s seasonal flu causing "not even a tenth of the usual deaths associated with flu."
Wodarg has also criticised the way pharemceutical companies have made gigantic profits at the expense of tax payers.
He accused vaccine manufacturers of being willing even to "inflict bodily harm in their pursuit of profits," noting that the adjuvants in the swine flu jab have hardly been tested.
In addition, the vaccine‘s side effects including dangerous paralysis have not been adequately recorded.
Wodarg has said that the role of the WHO and its 'pandemic' emergency declaration in June needs to be the especial focus of a European parliamtary inquiry. For the first time the criteria for a pandemic was made not the actual risk of a diseases but the estimated number of cases of the disease.
By classifying the swine flu as 'pandemic,' nations were compelled to implement pandemic plans and also the purchase swine flu vaccines.
Because WHO is not subject to any parliamentary control, Wodarg argued it is necessary for governments to insist on accountability.
"What is a 'pandemic' should not be allowed to be defined by an organisation that is clearly under the influence of the pharmaceutical companies that profit from the sales of vaccines accompanying such a pandemic. Many of the decision-makers in WHO have worked for the pharma industry and go back to work in the pharma industry."
The inquiry is also to look at the role of the Paul-Ehrlich and the Robert-Koch Institute in Germany.
Gallup: Economy Forcing Many in U.S. to Cut Back on Holiday Travel

Economy Forcing Many in U.S. to Cut Back on Holiday Travel
Majority of would-be travelers say they are cutting costs or not traveling at all
by Jeffrey M. Jones
PRINCETON, NJ -- The economy is affecting the holiday travel plans of one in five Americans, including 8% who are still traveling more than 100 miles from home but are cutting back significantly on the cost of the trip, and 12% who are staying near home but say they would have traveled if the economy were better. The remainder are traveling but not cutting costs (15%), or are not traveling and say the economy did not influence their decision (63%).

"Lower-income Americans are more likely to report altering their travel plans because of the economy, especially in terms of forgoing a trip altogether. "
These results are based on a Dec. 11-13 USA Today/Gallup poll, and indicate that 23% of Americans will be spending at least part of this holiday season away from home. The poll estimates that figure could have been 35% if the economy were in better shape.
The specific impact of the economic downturn on holiday travel is more apparent when one looks at just the 35% of Americans who can be considered "would-be travelers," including those who are traveling this year plus those who are forgoing travel because of the economy. Among this group, the majority are scaling back their travel plans by cutting down the cost of the trip (23%) or canceling it outright (34%).

Holiday travel is more common among wealthier Americans. Americans living in upper-income households (whose annual incomes are $75,000 or more) are twice as likely as lower-income Americans (whose annual incomes are under $30,000) to say they will travel during the holidays this year.

And, not surprisingly, lower-income Americans are more likely to report altering their travel plans because of the economy, especially in terms of forgoing a trip altogether. This group is twice as likely as upper-income Americans to have canceled holiday travel this year.

In addition to income, holiday travel varies by age, with younger Americans much more likely than older Americans to say they plan to travel.

Bottom Line
While the majority of Americans will stay close to home for the holidays this year, a substantial proportion will be traveling a considerable distance. However, the poor economy is limiting holiday travel this year, with 12% of Americans saying they are forgoing travel because of the economy, and another 8% cutting the costs of their trip.

Dancing on the Grave of Copenhagen!
Our Response to 350.org Broadcast this Morning on Copenhagen
350.org, you asked for input below,
You need to focus on the real science to buttress your position. The 'leaders' who made their 'accord' at COP-15, they know the real science, even though they don't speak of it, and it is what dictated their 'accord.' Global warming and climate change can come from four main sources: GHG enduced temperatures, volcanic activity, solar activity, and galactic gravitational forces. The latter three are of greater significance and generally cannot be controlled by humans. The above mentioned first source can be controlled by humans, can even be taxed and used as the basis to strengthen global government, but that will not solve any climate change we may be dealing with. You have to come to terms with the real science of resource depletion and pollution, because future history will.

Ready for Plan B: Copenhagen failure is planet's best bet
"Copenhagen failure is planet's best bet: top climate scientist"
by Suzanne Goldenberg
Dr James Hansen... he opposes carbon trading. Photo: Wires
THE scientist who convinced the world to take notice of the looming danger of global warming says it will be better for the planet and for future generations if next week's Copenhagen climate change summit ends in collapse.
James Hansen, the world's pre-eminent climate scientist, said any agreement likely to emerge from the negotiations would be so deeply flawed that it would be better to start again from scratch.
''I would rather it not happen if people accept that as being the right track because it's a disaster track,'' said Dr Hansen, who heads the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, in New York. ''The whole approach is so fundamentally wrong that it is better to reassess the situation. If it is going to be the Kyoto-type thing then [people] will spend years trying to determine exactly what that means.''
Dr Hansen, in repeated appearances before Congress beginning in 1989, has done more than any other scientist to educate politicians about the causes of global warming and to prod them into action to avoid its most catastrophic consequences.
But he vehemently opposes the carbon market schemes - in which permits to pollute are bought and sold - which are seen by the European Union and other governments as the most efficient way to cut emissions and move to a new, clean-energy economy.
Dr Hansen is also fiercely critical of Barack Obama - and even Al Gore, who won a Nobel peace prize for his efforts to get the world to act on climate change - saying politicians have failed to meet what he regards as the moral challenge of our age.
In Dr Hansen's view, dealing with climate change allows no room for the compromises that rule the world of elected politics. ''This is analogous to the issue of slavery faced by Abraham Lincoln or the issue of Nazism faced by Winston Churchill,'' he said. ''On those kind of issues you cannot compromise. You can't say: 'Let's reduce slavery; let's find a compromise and reduce it 50 per cent or reduce it 40 per cent.'''
He added: ''We don't have a leader who is able to grasp it and say what is really needed. Instead we are trying to continue business as usual.''
Dr Hansen's journey from climate scientist to activist accelerated in the last years of the Bush administration. A reluctant public speaker, he says he was forced into the public realm by the increasingly clear looming spectre of droughts, floods, famines and drowned cities indicated by the science.
Dr Hansen has emerged as a leading campaigner against the coal industry.
He has irked some environmentalists by espousing a direct carbon tax on fuel use. Some see that as a distraction from rallying support in the US Congress for emissions trading - legislation that is on the table.
He is scathing of that approach. ''This is analogous to the indulgences that the Catholic Church sold in the Middle Ages. The bishops collected lots of money and the sinners got redemption. Both parties liked that arrangement despite its absurdity. That is exactly what's happening.
''We've got the developed countries who want to continue more or less business as usual and then these developing countries who want money, and that is what they can get through offsets.''

H1N1 vaccine valued in millions to go unused
From: http://www.vancouversun.com/health/H1N1%20vaccine%20valued%20millions%20dollars%20could%20unused/2318352/story.html
"H1N1 vaccine valued in millions could go unused"
Demand for the flu shot falls quickly as deaths,
hospitalizations, infections decline
VANCOUVER — Millions of dollars worth of H1N1 vaccine could go unused in B.C. because demand for the flu shot has declined.
The province ordered four million doses of the vaccine from the manufacturer at a cost of $32 million. The federal government paid 60 per cent of that.
There was a strong demand when the vaccine first arrived in B.C. in late October. Now, however, with slightly more than half of the doses distributed to clinics, but not all used, there is a real possibility of excess supply as demand drops, Dr. Perry Kendall, chief provincial health officer, said in an interview on Tuesday.
He said about 40 per cent of the population has been vaccinated...
Kendall said a combination shot would be a non-adjuvant vaccine. That would likely be more popular with the public, given that the predominantly used adjuvant vaccine has drawn more skepticism and is believed to be associated with more temporary local reactions such as arm discomfort, fever, headache and muscle pain.
The additives in the adjuvant vaccine help boost the immune response and stretch the vaccine’s active ingredient so less can be used in each dose.
Kendall said B.C. has submitted at least 232 reports of moderate to serious adverse reactions in 176 people (some had multiple symptoms) to the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Of those, only eight were considered life-threatening, including five cases of anaphylaxis, one seizure, one case of fainting involving an injury from the fall and one death in a man who was vaccinated and then got H1N1 soon after. The death has been attributed to the flu, not the vaccine, and it is believed the man contracted the flu before the vaccine took effect.
The 232 adverse events, associated with 1.3 million vaccinations, also included severe pain, fevers accompanied by other symptoms like seizures, and joint pain.
Dr. Monika Naus, medical director of the BC Centre for Disease Control’s immunization program, said the rate of serious events in B.C. (less than one in 100,000) has so far been comparable to what is seen with seasonal influenza vaccinations.
Dropping demand for the vaccine prompted Tuesday’s announcement of an end to mass immunization clinics in malls, schools and community centres as of Dec. 18...

Copenhagen isn't about CO2 reductions; it's about Global Government
From: http://coolfoodscountdown.org
GLOBAL CLIMATE NEGOTIATORS ARE IGNORING WHAT’S ON THEIR PLATES
The leaders of industrialized nations are talking about bringing their expertise and technical prowess as solutions to what’s become the environmental issue of our time. But in all that’s being discussed, from high-tech solutions to the burgeoning trade in carbon credits, could it be that the Copenhagen delegates are ignoring the impact of what’s already on their plates?
World leaders meeting in September at the United Nations climate summit took stock of the sobering reality that an effective global pact on climate change very likely will not be achieved, as anticipated, in Copenhagen this December. Many proposed solutions in the Countdown to Copenhagen negotiations—officially known as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)—are highly technical and expensive fixes. However, a potent solution is being overlooked—a transition toward ecological, organic agriculture. Transforming our food systems wouldn’t cost governments exorbitant amounts of money and wouldn’t require elaborate--and in some cases, untested--technologies that are currently the main focus of UNFCCC climate negotiations and many national policies.
Agriculture is the only human activity based on photosynthesis that has the potential to be fully renewable. Multifunctional, biodiverse farming and localized food systems are essential for ensuring food security in an era of climate change. A rapid global transition to such systems is an imperative, both for mitigating climate change and for ensuring food security.
The U.S. Avoids the High Jump
The United States, looked to for leadership in setting the bar in global climate discussions, appears to be unwilling to take a high jump.
The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has estimated that developed countries need to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 25-40 percent below 1990 levels by 2020. However, the U.S. is nowhere near committing to such reductions. Legislation currently being debated--the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act (Kerry-Boxer) in the Senate and the House-passed American Clean Energy and Security Act (Waxman-Markey)--will not accomplish the needed emission reduction targets. Also, both fall short of policies already being implemented by other industrial nations. Additionally, the U.S.'s Johnny-Come-Lately reputation among other nations, including allies in the climate negotiations, is heightened by our inability to commit to earlier assurances to developing countries that we would contribute significant financial resources for touted clean technology transfers. In any case, U.S. actions, or rather inactions, have substantially lowered the bar for meaningful agreement in Copenhagen.
Industrial Agriculture—Perilous for the Planet
One of the reasons the U.S. is hampered from taking bolder action is that since the financial collapse the billions of dollars needed for constructing and transferring technologies are melting away as fast as the glaciers in the Himalayas. In order to break the apparent deadlock, new approaches, new ways of thinking are needed.
Industrial agriculture is a polluter that has largely been ignored. Even though research concludes that industrial agriculture is one of the major contributors to global warming, neither international nor U.S. domestic policies are adequately addressing this sector. The figures are stunning—at least 60 percent of all nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions, the most potent GHG, are caused by industrial agriculture, primarily from the use of synthetic nitrogen fertilizer. Nearly 50 percent of methane (CH4), the second strongest GHG, is due to industrial farming practices, much of this from intensive livestock operations.
The IPCC tells us that industrial agriculture methods contribute at least 14 percent of GHG emissions. However, when calculating the total energy backpack of the current food system, this figure could be as high as 25 to 30 percent of emissions. Massive production and use of chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers; concentrated and unsanitary livestock operations; food transport; intensive water usage; and land conversion from biodiverse ecosystems to giant, monoculture food plantations—these practices are perilous for our food security and the planet.
A Major Problem Can Become a Major Solution
Given that industrial methods are a major part of the global warming problem, why not turn agriculture around to make it a major climate solution?
As the late Edward R. Goldsmith, author of seminal writings about ecosystems—including the critical link between agriculture and climate change—often stated: “When doing something that causes harm, one must do the exact opposite in order for things to change.” In other words, if we make a U-turn away from harmful industrial agriculture practices toward ecological, organic systems, we can significantly change the course of climate change.
The potential for rapid change is exciting. For example, studies by the Rodale Institute project (Scroll down to Regenerative Organic Farming: A Solution to Global Warming) that the planet’s 3.5 billion tillable acres could sequester nearly 40 percent of current CO2 emissions if converted to “regenerative” organic agriculture practices. The same 10-year research project concluded that if U.S. cropland (based on 434 million acres) were converted to organic farming methods, we could reduce nearly 25 percent of our total GHG emissions.
Many other studies have drawn similar conclusions. In India, research shows that organic farming practices increase carbon absorption in soils by up to 55 percent (even higher when agro-forestry is added into the mix), and water holding capacity is increased by 10 percent. A study of 20 commercial farms in California found that organic fields had 28 percent more carbon in the soil than industrial farms.
Organic Farming—Can It Feed the World?
The inevitable criticism raised by proponents of industrial agriculture when one discusses organic farming is that we can’t afford to worry about environmental hazards given the need to feed our burgeoning world population. Agribusiness corporations have been telling us that in order to feed the world, we need to convert more fully to industrial methods.
But despite being broadly reported and accepted, that position is untenable. First, global warming and other environmental problems caused by industrial agriculture practices will guarantee that we won’t be able to feed a hungry world. Second, contrary to general belief and prejudice, crop yields from industrial fields do not consistently produce more food. In fact, it is a myth that ecological organic agriculture yields less than conventional agriculture.
A comprehensive study of 293 crop comparisons of industrial and organic agriculture demonstrates that organic farm yields are roughly comparable to industrial farm yields in developed countries and result in much higher yields in developing countries (the full study is available for purchase).
The World Bank and United Nations International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development concluded that a fundamental overhaul of the current food and farming system is needed to get us out of the growing food (and fuel) crisis. They recommend that small-scale farmers and agro-ecological methods – not industrialization – are the keys to a viable food security. Additionally, numerous studies unequivocally state that our survival depends on the resiliency and biodiversity of organic farm systems free of fossil fuels and chemical dependency.
A New Way Forward
Given the figures, the U.S. and other countries can make a giant step toward reducing GHG emissions by transitioning away from industrial food systems and toward ecological systems. Simply eliminating or greatly reducing the use of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers and instead using manures and cover crops will dramatically reduce GHG emissions. Putting this into practice would require much smaller amounts of financing than building massive infrastructures and developing sophisticated technologies. Transforming the way we grow our food is a simpler, cheaper, and highly effective approach.
Perhaps when First Lady Michelle Obama planted the White House garden, she knew that growing food without chemicals was not only producing nutritious, healthy food, but was also taking a bite out of climate change. Small gardens are a step, but of course we need large-scale change in the way we grow our food. To move in the right direction, we need to take the great U-turn and transition toward food systems that are regenerative, living carbon systems versus non-renewable, dead fossil-carbon systems. We need to provide incentives and resources to farmers in the U.S., as well as around the globe, to make this U-turn and reinvigorate agricultural livelihoods and communities. It’s time to create a new food and climate future.
This is Issue Two in a series of newsletters produced by the Center for Food Safety and Navdanya International to focus on the critical links between food systems and climate change. We will distribute additional issues in the run up to the Copenhagen meeting of the United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to foster discussion about the potential for ecological food systems to become a major solution to climate change.

Leading Scientist: Climategate 'tip of the iceberg'
Famous weather scientist: Climategate 'tip of iceberg'
'Conspiracy would become manifest' if all climate research e-mails unveiled
By Bob Unruh WorldNetDaily December 08, 2009
The Colorado scientist described by the Washington Post as "the World's Most Famous Hurricane Expert" says the "Climategate" e-mails from the United Kingdom that revealed possible data manipulation are evidence of a conspiracy among "warmists," those who believe man's actions are triggering possibly catastrophic climate change.
"The recent 'ClimateGate' revelations coming out of the UK University of East Anglia are but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming conspiracy that has been gathering momentum for the last 25 years," said Colorado State University's William Gray.
His annual hurricane forecasts are the standard for weather prognostications. His work pioneered the science of forecasting hurricanes, and he has served as weather forecaster for the U.S. Air Force. He is emeritus professor of atmospheric science at CSU and heads the school's Department of Atmospheric Sciences Tropical Meteorology Project.
Gray was referring to e-mails and other information obtained by a hacker and posted on a Russian web server that included interactions among the world's most influential climate-change scientists.
One e-mail said: "I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd (sic) from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline."
Another expressed internal doubts: "The fact is that we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can't. The CERES data published in the August (Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society) 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate."
Further, an e-mail exchange suggested the suppression of information: "Can you delete any e-mails you may have had with Keith re (Assessment Report 4)? Keith will do likewise. He's not in at the moment – minor family crisis."
Gray said, "This conspiracy would become much more manifest if all the e-mails of the publically funded climate research groups of the U.S. and of foreign governments were ever made public."
His comments are posted at Climate Depot.com as world leaders are conferencing in Copenhagen to discuss taking drastic economic measures to curb "global warming."
Gray warns that the likely agreements coming out of Copenhagen, the cap-and-trade bill before Congress and the Environmental Protection
"We should not allow these proposals to restrict our economic growth," Gray said. "Any United Nations climate bill our country might sign would act as an infringement on our country's sovereignty."
He said he probably would have been concerned about the possibility people are causing serious global climate degradation "had I not devoted my entire career of over half-a-century to the study and forecasting of meteorological and climate events."
"There has been an unrelenting quarter century of one-sided indoctrination of the Western world by the media and by various scientists and governments concerning a coming carbon dioxide … induced global warming disaster," he said. "These warming scenarios have been orchestrated by a combination of environmentalists, vested interest scientists wanting larger federal grants and publicity, the media which profits from doomsday scenario reporting, governmental bureaucrats who want more power over our lives, and socialists who want to level-out global living standards.
"These many alarmist groups appear to have little concern over whether their global warming prognostications are accurate, however. And they most certainly are not. The alarmists believe they will be able to scare enough of our citizens into believing their propaganda that the public will be willing to follow their advice on future energy usage and agree to a lowering of their standard of living in the name of climate salvation."
Gray said there still hasn't been an "honest and broad" scientific debate on the influence of CO2 on global temperature, contending the present models presented by scientists are flawed.
He cited a global warming of about 1 degree Fahrenheit over the last century, and that's "not a consequence of human activities."
"The disastrous economic consequences of restricting CO2 emissions from the present by as much as 20 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050 (as being proposed in Copenhagen) have yet to be digested by the general public. Such CO2 output decreases would cause very large increases in our energy costs, a lowering of our standard of living, and do nothing of significance to improve our climate," he said.
Gray launched the practice of seasonal hurricane forecasts. After the 2005 Atlantic season, he said he was stepping down from the primary authorship of the CSU report, turning over those duties to Philip J. Klotzbach.
He's long described global warming as a hoax, telling the Post three years ago, "I am of the opinion that this is one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the American people."
Myron Ebell of the GlobalWarming.org website, where "cooler heads prevail," said the e-mails obtained from the University of East Anglia were "shocking."
"It's kind of interesting to learn that petty politics seems to be more prevalent in the scientific community than in the political community," he said.
The documents, he said, "raise a huge number of questions about the integrity of a lot of people in the alarmist community."
"What I've seen there is a very strong effort to manage the issue by scientists and not as a scientific issue. It's very improper," he said. "One of the criticisms is that we need scientists to be scientists, and policy can be handled in public debate."
Phil Jones, head of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit, confirmed the documents appeared authentic. He has temporarily stepped down while an investigation is taking place.
Despite the advocacy of a financially vested former vice president, Al Gore, and others, public opinion about whether mankind is causing an ultimately catastrophic rise in global temperatures is shifting.
U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, has urged members of Congress to consider the joint opinion of nearly 32,000 scientists, including more than 9,000 Ph.D.s, who believe humans likely have little or nothing to do with any "global warming."
The Petition Project, launched some 10 years ago when the first few thousand signatures were gathered, has steadily grown without any special effort or campaign.
But in the last few years, and especially because of the release of Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth," the campaign has been reinvigorated.
"Mr. Gore's movie, asserting a 'consensus' and 'settled science' in agreement about human-caused global warming, conveyed the claims about human-caused global warming to ordinary moviegoers and to public-school children, to whom the film was widely distributed. Unfortunately, Mr. Gore's movie contains many very serious incorrect claims which no informed, honest scientist could endorse," project spokesman and founder Art Robinson has told WND.
Robinson, a research professor of chemistry, cofounded the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine with Linus Pauling in 1973, and later cofounded the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine.
Paul later cited the petition results in statement to Congress.
"Our energy policies must be based upon scientific truth – not fictional movies or self-interested international agendas," Paul said. "They should be based upon the accomplishments of technological free enterprise that have provided our modern civilization, including our energy industries. That free enterprise must not be hindered by bogus claims about imaginary disasters."
The petition states: "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."
Robinson has warned of serious political and economic consequences of assuming "global warming" results from mankind's actions.
"The campaign to severely ration hydrocarbon energy technology has now been markedly expanded," he said. "In the course of this campaign, many scientifically invalid claims about impending climate emergencies are being made. Simultaneously, proposed political actions to severely reduce hydrocarbon use now threaten the prosperity of Americans and the very existence of hundreds of millions of people in poorer countries," he told WND.
Frickin' BOGUS W.H.O. H1N1 "Pandemic"
"Swine flu far less severe in latest calculations"
The analysis suggests that the death rate from the current wave of H1N1 flu cases probably will fall in a range that extends from far lower to slightly higher than the estimate of 36,000 deaths caused by seasonal flu in a typical year.
The analysis doesn't project how many people will contract swine flu but "how bad it will be," says lead author Marc Lipsitch of the Harvard School of Public Health.
At the low end, the estimates suggest that for every 10% of the population to develop flu symptoms, there will be 1,500 to 2,700 deaths, 6,600 to 11,000 people in intensive care, and 36,000 to 78,000 hospitalizations. At the high end, for the same percentage of the population, swine flu could cause 7,800 to 29,000 deaths, 40,000 to 140,000 people needing intensive care, and 250,000 to 790,000 hospitalizations.
The calculations represent a marked reduction from an August report by the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. That report proposed a "plausible" death toll that could fall anywhere between 30,000 and 90,000. Lipsitch, who worked on the August report, says the earlier estimate was based on "limited data" because the researchers began their work not long after the virus first surfaced in April, when little was known about the shape of the epidemic to come.
To fill gaps, Lipsitch and his team at Harvard and Britain's Medical Research Council used data from Milwaukee and New York City. The data confirmed that swine flu has its biggest effect on children younger than 4 and adults 18 to 64. The study appears in the Public Library of Science (PLoS) Medicine journal...

Copenhagen and the glitterati
Posted by papundits on 12/07/2009

...On a normal day, Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen’s biggest limousine company, says her firm has twelve vehicles on the road. During the “summit to save the world”, which opens here tomorrow, she will have 200.
“We thought they were not going to have many cars, due to it being a climate convention,” she says…
And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? “Five,” says Ms Jorgensen…
The airport says it is expecting up to 140 extra private jets during the peak period alone, so far over its capacity that the planes will have to fly off to regional airports – or to Sweden – to park, returning to Copenhagen to pick up their VIP passengers.
As well 15,000 delegates and officials, 5,000 journalists and 98 world leaders, the Danish capital will be blessed by the presence of Leonardo DiCaprio, Daryl Hannah, Helena Christensen, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Prince Charles.
The glitterati had to destroy the planet in order to save it.
UPDATE
I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people who tell me it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis.
